Retirement Education — Petaling Jaya, Malaysia
A Calm Place to Learn What Retirement Actually Involves
Goldenfold runs small reading groups, records workshops, and workplace programmes to help you approach the end of your working years with a clearer head and better-organised paperwork.
Our Programmes
Three Ways We Can Help
Each programme is built around straightforward information, not sales pressure. Come with your questions; leave with a clearer picture.
Saturday Reading Group on Retirement Topics
A regular small gathering where participants read and discuss publicly available materials on retirement systems, household budgeting in later life, and the practical questions that arise when work winds down. Sessions open with a short topic summary, followed by a guided group discussion using a plain-English workbook.
- Builds a clearer vocabulary around retirement planning
- Helps you form better questions for official appointments
- No advice given — purely educational and informational
Personal Records Folder Workshop
A four-hour practical session for organising your retirement-related paperwork into a single, readable folder that a family member could follow without you in the room. Bring your statements, identification documents, work history, and beneficiary records. We provide labelled dividers, a paper inventory sheet, and a calm space at a large table.
- Leave with a fully labelled, ordered personal folder
- One-page summary of what is inside, in plain language
- Facilitator answers labelling and arrangement questions only
Pre-Retirement Education Programme for Workplaces
A structured programme for employers who would like to offer their staff a calm, factual introduction to retirement well before the date arrives. Delivered across three two-hour sessions on the employer's site, covering the public retirement framework, documents required at exit, and the personal admin work that helps make the transition manageable.
- Three on-site sessions, each two hours long
- Covers EPF, general retirement framework, and exit documentation
- Informational only — no individual advice given
Why Goldenfold
What Makes These Sessions Different
Small Groups, Unhurried Pace
No more than twelve people per session. That means room for questions, room to re-read a section, and time to think rather than rush.
Information, Not Advice
We do not hold any regulated licence and do not give individual financial or legal advice. What we do is help you understand the landscape so that your own conversations with official bodies go more smoothly.
Practical Workbooks
Every session comes with a plain-English workbook. Questions are designed to prompt useful thinking, not test knowledge. Take it home and return to it at your own pace.
Accessible Petaling Jaya Location
Held at our Damansara Utama address, a short walk from public transport and with street parking nearby. The room is air-conditioned and set out at a wide table with space to spread paperwork.
Family-Friendly Approach
The records workshop specifically produces a folder that a spouse or adult child could navigate independently. We encourage participants to attend with a family member when that is practical.
On-Site Workplace Delivery
For employers, we come to you. Sessions run on your site, fitted around your shift schedule, and the content is adapted to reflect the retirement timelines of your workforce.
Would a Quiet Conversation Help You Decide?
Send us a brief message and we will reply within one working day. No obligation, no follow-up calls unless you ask for one.
Common Questions
Things People Ask Before Booking
Who are these programmes suited for?
Anyone from their mid-40s onwards who would like to understand retirement processes, get their paperwork in order, or simply sit with others who are thinking through the same questions. Employers looking to support staff approaching retirement will find the workplace programme relevant.
Do the facilitators give personal financial advice?
No. Our facilitators explain publicly available information and help you organise your records. They do not interpret the content of your documents or make recommendations about how you should manage your savings, contributions, or any financial decisions. For those matters, please consult a licensed adviser or contact the relevant authority directly.
How often does the Saturday Reading Group meet?
Typically twice a month on Saturday mornings, from 9.00 am to approximately 11.30 am. Dates are confirmed in advance and participants are notified by email. You can join a single session or attend across multiple dates — there is no fixed enrolment period.
What should I bring to the Personal Records Folder Workshop?
Bring any retirement-related documents you have: EPF statements, identification cards, employment records, insurance summaries, beneficiary nomination forms, and similar. We supply the folder, dividers, inventory sheet, and labelling materials. If you are uncertain what to bring, send us a message beforehand and we will help you think through it.
How does payment work?
Payment is made in full before each session. We accept online bank transfer to our registered account. A confirmation and receipt are sent by email. For the workplace programme, invoicing arrangements can be made directly with the employer's HR or finance team.
Can I request a cancellation or a different date?
Yes. Let us know at least five working days before the session date and we will transfer your booking to the next available date at no extra charge. Cancellations with shorter notice may not be transferable depending on how full the session is. The full details are in our Terms & Conditions.
Is the workplace programme available outside the Klang Valley?
We are based in Petaling Jaya and primarily serve employers within the Klang Valley. Engagements further afield may be possible — please contact us to discuss the details, including any travel arrangements and whether on-site delivery is practical for your location.
