Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: 5 May 2025
1. About These Terms
These terms and conditions govern your use of Goldenfold's website and your booking of any programme or workshop offered by Goldenfold, operating from 7 Jalan SS21/1A, Damansara Utama, 47400 Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia.
By submitting an enquiry, registering for a session, or making payment, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms. If you have questions before booking, please contact us at [email protected] or by telephone at +60 3-7726 4983.
2. Nature of Our Programmes
All programmes offered by Goldenfold are educational and informational in nature. They are designed to help participants understand publicly available information about retirement systems and to organise their own personal documents.
Goldenfold does not hold any financial advisory licence, legal practice certificate, or other regulated professional credential. Nothing said or written in the course of any Goldenfold session constitutes financial advice, legal advice, investment advice, or a recommendation to take any particular course of action with respect to your finances, documents, or personal affairs.
Participants should consult qualified and licensed professionals for individual financial or legal guidance.
3. Booking and Payment
A booking is confirmed only when full payment has been received and we have sent you a written confirmation by email. Verbal or written enquiries do not constitute a confirmed booking.
Payment is accepted by online bank transfer to our registered account. Details are provided in the booking confirmation email. For the Pre-Retirement Education Programme for Workplaces, invoice arrangements may be made directly with the employer's finance team prior to the engagement.
Prices are as stated on our website at the time of booking and are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (RM), inclusive of all materials provided during the session. Prices do not include travel costs for participants.
4. Cancellation and Rescheduling by Participants
If you need to cancel or reschedule your booking, please notify us in writing (by email to [email protected]) as soon as possible.
- Five or more working days before the session: Your booking will be transferred to the next available session date at no extra charge. If no suitable date is available within 60 days, a full refund will be issued.
- Fewer than five working days before the session: Transfer or refund cannot be offered, as the session preparation and materials have been committed. We will consider exceptions in cases of serious illness or bereavement, at our discretion, upon written request.
Transfers are available once per booking. A second request to reschedule the same booking will be treated as a cancellation.
5. Cancellation or Changes by Goldenfold
We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a session if minimum attendance numbers are not reached, if a facilitator is unavailable due to illness or emergency, or in circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
In the event of cancellation by us, you will be offered a transfer to the next available date or a full refund of the amount paid. We are not liable for any additional costs incurred by participants in connection with a cancelled session, including travel or accommodation.
6. Session Conduct
Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and considerate manner towards other participants and facilitators. Goldenfold reserves the right to ask a participant to leave a session if their conduct is disruptive or disrespectful, without refund.
Recording of sessions by participants — whether audio, video, or photographic — is not permitted without prior written consent from Goldenfold.
7. Documents Brought to Workshops
Participants who attend the Personal Records Folder Workshop bring their own documents for their own use. Goldenfold facilitators do not read, interpret, copy, photograph, or retain any personal documents brought by participants. Participants are responsible for the security and safekeeping of their own documents throughout the session and while travelling to and from the venue.
8. Intellectual Property
All session workbooks, question sheets, inventory templates, and other written materials provided by Goldenfold are our intellectual property. They are provided for your personal use in connection with the session you have attended.
You may not reproduce, distribute, resell, or adapt Goldenfold materials for commercial purposes or for use in third-party programmes without our written permission.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, Goldenfold's liability in connection with any programme or workshop is limited to the amount paid by the participant for that session.
We are not liable for any loss, cost, or damage arising from decisions made by participants after attending a session, including decisions about retirement savings, estate planning, document management, or any other personal or financial matter. Our sessions provide information, not advice, and attendees act on that information at their own discretion.
10. Privacy
Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. By booking a session, you confirm that you have read and understood how we use your data.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising under these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date shown at the top of this page indicates when they were last revised. The terms in effect at the time of your booking will apply to that booking.
